Fancy Fonts for Instagram — and everywhere else you type
Instagram doesn't let you change fonts in the app — but you have probably seen bios written in 𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽, 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 or 𝔤𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 letters. Those profiles aren't using a hidden setting. They're pasting Unicode text: special characters that look like styled letters but are still plain text. This guide shows you how to do it on Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Discord and in game names — and which styles work best where.
The 3 steps (works for every app)
- Open the FancyFont generator and type the text you want to style.
- Tap the style you like — it is copied to your clipboard instantly.
- Go to the app and paste (long-press → Paste on phones, Ctrl+V / Cmd+V on computers). Save — done.
Instagram: bio, name, captions and comments
- Generate your text on FancyFont and tap a style to copy it.
- In Instagram, go to your profile → Edit profile.
- Paste into the Bio field (or the Name field), then save.
The same paste works in captions and comments. Popular combinations: script for a classy or aesthetic bio, bold for one important line (like a business offer), and small caps for a clean, minimal look.
One important caution: your username can't contain these characters at all, and your display name in fancy letters can make you harder to find — people searching your real name won't match the fancy version. Most creators keep the name plain and style the bio only.
TikTok: nickname and bio
Generate, copy, then go to Profile → Edit profile and paste into Name or Bio. Bold and bubble styles are popular for names; keep names short, because very long styled strings can wrap awkwardly on small screens.
WhatsApp: name, status and messages
Paste fancy text into your profile name (Settings → tap your name), your About/status line, or directly into any chat message. Script and italic styles read well in status lines. Note that WhatsApp also has its own built-in formatting (*bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~ typed around words) which works inside messages only — the Unicode styles from FancyFont work everywhere, including your name and status.
Discord: nickname, status and messages
On a server, right-click your name → Edit Server Profile and paste into the nickname field; or paste into your custom status and channel messages. Bold script and fraktur (gothic) are favourites for gaming servers. If a server's moderation bot filters unusual characters, switch to bold or small caps.
Game names: PUBG, Free Fire, Roblox and more
- Generate your nickname on FancyFont — shorter is better; most games limit name length.
- Copy the style, open the game's rename screen, and paste.
- If the game rejects it, some characters are blocked — try a simpler style (bold, small caps or circled usually pass).
Remember that a rename card or name change may cost in-game currency in some titles, so preview the pasted name carefully before confirming.
Tips for readable, good-looking results
- Don't style everything. One styled line among plain lines stands out; a whole bio in fraktur is hard to read.
- Mix with emoji sparingly — one or two per line, not ten.
- Check on another phone if you can: very old devices may show boxes for the newest characters. Bold, circled and small caps are the safest.
- Screen readers may read fancy characters letter-by-letter or skip them, so keep essential information (prices, contact details) in plain text too.
Quick answers
Is this allowed? Yes — you're pasting standard text characters, not modifying any app. Does it cost anything? No, the generator is free. Why did my text paste as plain letters? You probably copied from the input box instead of tapping a style card — tap the card itself to copy the styled version.
